NEW PORT RICHEY — Pasco County has issued a media release to tell residents that it can no longer accept anonymous code complaints, due to a change in state law which went into effect at the start of this month.
This prohibition includes anonymous non-emergency animal complaints.
Residents can still help county code enforcement officers keep the community safe and attractive by filing a complaint which includes their name and address. Reporting issues can be completed using the MyPasco app. There, residents can upload photos and mark problem areas on a locator map.
Complaints can also be made by contacting Pasco County Customer Service at (727) 847.2411. Typical code violation reports involve yards being used as a storage area for junk or debris, inoperative or unlicensed vehicles, illegal dumping and noise violations.
According to the media release, code enforcement handles most complaints within 7-10 business days and is often able to resolve issues without issuing a citation. For more information about code enforcement, visit the county’s website at https://www.pascocountyfl.net/391/Code-Enforcement.
