Celebrations galore have taken over the Washington, D.C., area after the Nationals won their first-ever World Series title. But a town in Northern Virginia took its celebration to a whole other level.

Leesburg, Virginia, voted unanimously to temporarily rename itself "Natsburg" in honor of the Nationals' championship victory. Town council members voted to make the change for the weekend in a special work session. Natsburg will revert back to "Leesburg" after Sunday, Nov. 3.

Mayor Kelly Burk and Vice Mayor Fernando Martinez called for the special meeting in order to get the name changed.

The town's celebration was on full display as the council members performed the Baby Shark dance at their meeting.

The move is reminiscent of when Lovettsville, Va. renamed itself Capitalsville during the Washington Capitals' 2018 Stanley Cup Finals run.

While the name change is only temporary, the Nationals' championship and its impact on the D.C. area will be permanent.

The Nationals declined their side of a $4 million mutual option attached to Matt Adams' contract for 2020, the team announced Friday. Adams, who will receive a $1 million buyout, is now a free agent. He could return to the team, though that seems unlikely.

Adams was signed to be a left-handed power hitter off the bench. He hit 20 home runs, but also had just a .226 batting average. His defense, even at first base, is limited.

First base is among a handful of positions the Nationals will have to restructure in 2020 after winning the World Series. Ryan Zimmerman is expected to return on a much less expensive contract. Washington will search for a left-handed compliment who can come off the bench and play first. Justin Smoak and Mitch Moreland are interesting options to replace Adams.
