CHATHAM, NJ - The owners of Noe Pond Club in Chatham Township have accepted an offer from a developer to purchase the property on Southern Boulevard, informing club members of the decision in an email letter sent out Wednesday.
"We are writing to inform membership of continued unprecedented circumstances," owners Kim and Chuck Barton wrote. "We have received an unsolicited purchase offer for the Noe land from a very reputable developer. After painstaking thought, careful consideration and considerable angst, we have accepted the offer. If the developer is satisfied with review of the property this fall, closing is expected to occur in December or January. If the developer decides not to purchase the land, club operations are expected to continue."
The Barton's have signed a non-disclosure agreement with the developer.

September 9, 2020
Dear Club Members,
We hope your summer experience at the Noe Pond Club was enjoyable. We are deeply appreciative to Kirk Warshaw and our entire staff team for maintaining safe operations and to our membership for adhering to Club operating procedures and guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. This was a very different summer for us all. We are grateful for everyone’s efforts navigating these uncharted waters. Under, or perhaps despite, the somewhat surreal environment, we were able to open the waterfront, tennis courts, concession area and provide swim and tennis programs.
We are writing to inform membership of continued unprecedented circumstances. We have received an unsolicited purchase offer for the Noe land from a very reputable developer. After painstaking thought, careful consideration and considerable angst, we have accepted the offer. If the developer is satisfied with review of the property this fall, closing is expected to occur in December or January. If the developer decides not to purchase the land, club operations are expected to continue.
We recognize this news comes as a shock to all. Today, we informed the Browers (Kim’s parents), year-round staff, and seasonal staff. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to disclose more information at this time. We and the developer have a non-disclosure agreement. Attached is a list of anticipated questions and the answers we can provide. While we understand you may have additional questions, please note that none of our staff, Kirk included, are in a position to provide more information. We hope that you would understand this and not put them in an awkward position where they could only speculate as to an answer. If you do have additional questions, please use the email addresses below.
We hope our advance notice is appreciated. We will provide more information when possible.
Sincerely,
Kim Barton             Chuck Barton
