In response to Craig Olson’s letter, “Legal reviews, recounts justified” (Nov. 11): When Mr. Olson says “half of the nation refused to accept the results of the 2016 election,” he fails to understand the difference between “accepting the results” and “finding the result unacceptable.” No one (except Jill Stein) disputed the vote count in the 2016 presidential election. Hillary Rodham Clinton conceded the election the morning after the election. We accepted the results (the vote count).
What we found unacceptable was that by a minority of the voters, the country that has been a beacon of democratic and humanitarian values to the world for 250 years elected as its leader a phony reality TV performer, failed businessman involved in multiple bankruptcies, admitted sexual abuser, and a con man who is apparently unable to tell the truth – ever. That was the result we found unacceptable and vowed to overturn it -- in the next election, which is what we did. How about if Mr. Olson (and the Republicans) start accepting that result.
