CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Troll and Toad customers will soon be able to use popular cryptocurrency as payment through its website. The online retailer in Corbin hopes to expand customers’ options and embrace the popularity of digital assets.
Troll and Toad is testing integrating Coinbase Commerce into its website. President of Troll and Toad Shawn Gambel stated this move is the company’s latest in staying on the cutting edge of online retail and provide a way for customers to spend cryptocurrency without converting it first.
“With the rapid acceptance on a consumer level of cryptocurrency we felt that we needed to streamline the ability for owners to realize more utility from their holdings. As a crypto holder myself I find it often cumbersome to use in the broader market. By joining with Coinbase we felt this would be the broadest representation for our customers, and provide the best experience possible,” said Shawn Gambel, President of Troll and Toad. “If crypto is ever to truly take off, the ease of use and becoming widely accepted will be integral, we are doing our part to help that along.”
Through Coinbase Commerce, customers can use Bitcoin, Ethereum, DAI, Bitcoin Cash USD Coin and Litecoin at checkout. The gaming retailer anticipates to start accepting cryptocurrency by the fourth quarter of 2021.
