The New York bowhunting season is underway in both the Northern and Southern Zones and the trophy bucks that have been arrowed to date are eye-opening.

There are more hunters in the woods this season -- both male and female -- due to the fact the state Department of Environmental Conservation offered bowhunting safety courses completely online this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The early Northern Zone season opened Sept. 23 and ends today (Oct. 23). The late season in the Northern Zone, only in certain wildlife management unit (WMUs) lasts from Dec 1-17. The early Southern Zone season started Oct. 1 and continues until Nov. 20. The late season is from Dec. 14-22.

The following photos were submitted by hunters from both zones.
