BATON ROUGE – LSU wide receiver Racey McMath and linebacker Jabril Cox along with former Tiger defensive back Kary Vincent Jr. have all accepted invites to participate in the 2021 Senior Bowl, the all star game announced this week.
The Senior Bowl, which takes place at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Ala., is the premier college football all star game featuring elite draft prospects from across the country. The week-long event gives those players invited an opportunity to showcase their talent to all 32 NFL teams. The week includes meetings with NFL personnel, media obligations, practice and culminates with the game on Saturday.
The 2021 Senior Bowl is scheduled for Jan. 30 and will be televised on the NFL Network. In addition, game-week practices and daily interviews are televised on both the NFL Network and ESPN.
Cox, a graduate transfer from North Dakota State, is in his first year with the Tigers. He's currently second on the team in tackles for loss with 4.5 and he's third in total tackles with 31. Cox returned an interception 14 yards for a touchdown in his first game in Tiger Stadium in the season-opener against Mississippi State. Cox was a two-time Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-American at North Dakota State helping the Bison to three straight national titles.
McMath, from Edna Karr High School in New Orleans, has started all five games this year and has 11 catches year for 147 yards. For his career, McMath has 30 receptions for 474 yards and three touchdowns.
Vincent, who started in nine games a year ago including the national championship win over Clemson, opted out of the 2020 season. Vincent had 47 tackles and ranked second on the team with four interceptions during LSU's 15-0 campaign in 2019.
McMath and Cox will be back in action for the Tigers on Saturday when LSU travels to face Arkansas in Fayetteville. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. on the SEC Network.
