It’s wonderful that Mr. Juday prefers a rational system. He is exercising the greatest gift that we as humans have, that being free will. It is this that sets us above all other living things. Unfortunately for some, what we prefer and what is reality are often two different things.
The very best scientists set aside what they prefer and adopt the humility to accept what is. There is nothing rational about quantum entanglement. There is nothing rational about Schrodinger’s Cat experiment where the properties of a photon are dictated by the will of the observer. There is nothing rational about the universe existing in 10 dimensions outside of it being proven mathematically.
Unfortunately our society is emboldened to proudly proclaim “I believe in science,” whereas in reality Mr. Juday is correct. His science has no answers. Science is not a religion, it is simply a methodology based on the humility to accept what we can measure through our temporal observations. The hypocrisy of those that “believe in science” are in essence saying that they really don’t believe in anything because they know that at any given moment an experiment will upend everything they hold to be true in their reality and render them with no foundation at all.
Scientific method is great for explaining things up to the point where it can’t. Mr. Juday puts his faith in man, that someday someone will somehow be able to explain what happened right before the Big Bang or how the first DNA molecule came into existence. If I’m going to be blindly putting my faith somewhere its going to be with God, everlasting and perfect in all ways.
