Odds have been released for the next school to accept an SEC invitation and Clemson and Florida State lead the pack with the best odds at +250 ($100 wager wins $250), followed by Miami at +325. Other schools listed include Louisville and Baylor at +500, Oklahoma State at +600, and Cincinnati at +750.

These odds follow conflicting reports of Florida State, Clemson, North Carolina and Virginia joining the southeastern conference. SwimSwam’s Braden Keith reported that the quartet was SEC-bound and negotiating a way out of their current TV deal with ESPN, but CBS Sports’ Barrett Sallee called those rumors ‘silly’.
Evidently, these odds seem to indicate that Clemson and Florida State are, in fact, looking to ditch the ACC — which if you ask this writer, should join up the remainder of the Pac-12 and take a trip to the college football graveyard along with the WAC and the Big East. Miami is also an option to jump considering the potential recruitment wars that can be won because of the SEC branding. Roll Tide Wire believes FSU and ‘The U’ are the best possible SEC additions while All Aggies called Clemson a potential ‘crown jewel’ addition to the ‘it just means more’ conference.
Why Oklahoma State would be an intriguing addition to the SEC
One of the bigger longshots listed in the aforementioned SEC odds, Oklahoma State, would actually make the most sense as an addition. Baylor has the chance to become the Big 12’s flagship program in the Lone Star State, and Cincinnati is wildly unlikely as it would be breaking an agreement which has ink still drying.
With Oklahoma on the way to the SEC, packaging their in-state rival along with them makes pretty easy-to-follow logical sense. It’d certainly be a surefire way to make the ‘Bedlam’ mean more, if nothing else.
