This problem can be fixed by following any one of the following methods or each method one after the other. Let us start by fixing the basic things
Method 1 : Give the administrator rights
Check if Discord has been given the administrator rights. To do this, you need to first click on the windows key+E
This opens the file explorer. Right click on the file and select the option, open file location.
Now tick the Run as administrator box an d then click on Apply.
Method 2 : Restart your PC
If this problem is occurring for the first time, then try restarting your PC. Sometimes the software gets interrupted because of the other background programs. They might be interfering with this software and thus affecting its normal functioning. So restart your PC and run discord again.

Method 4 : Clear discord roaming data
The other thing that causes this software to malfunction is the improper settings and temporarily discorded files. Hence clearing the discord roaming data might help fix the issue. This can be done as follows:
Press Windows key and in the bar, type %appdata%, then press enter.
On discord, right click and select delete
Relaunch discord and check if that works.
Method 5 : Reset voice settings on discord
The next thing that you can alter in this software to try fix the issue is resetting the voice settings on discord. Sometimes voice settings might get changed without your notice. So it is better to check and reset the settings once. To do this you need to follow these steps:
Open discord and go to Settings.
Then select Voice and video settings.

Method 7 : Disable antivirus temporarily
We know that our anti-virus takes care of even the minor issues and alerts us or sometimes directly blocks the program that we are doing. Hence there is a chance that your anti-virus has blocked some of the functions of Discord.
