Charges dropped or withdrawn in 2 cases, while judges accept guilty pleas in others - Williamsport Sun-Gazette

All charges of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct have been withdrawn against Joseph Ralph Griffin, 45, of 10887 Route 44, Waterville, after the alleged victim did not want to pursue the case, according to the office of District Judge Jerry C. Lepley.

Charges stemmed from an incident at Happy Acres, Little Pine Run Road, Waterville, where Griffin, employed as the the kitchen manager, smashed a money jar and threw a $2,400 computer on the floor, during heated argument inside the establishment with the owner on May 24, the Tiadaghton Valley Regional police alleged in court papers.

In another criminal case, this one handled by District Judge Christian Frey, Hailey Haefner, 20, of 625 Harding Ave., pled guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana as a result of an incident in the 1700 block of West Fourth Street on June 25. The charge was filed by a county-wide police task force. She made arrangements to pay $601 in fines and court costs. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was withdrawn.

In another case, John Paul Belford, 19, of 951 Tallman Hollow Road, Montoursville, pled guilty before District Judge William Solomon to a charge of possession of marijuana after Old Lycoming Township police agreed to withdraw a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges stemmed from an incident in the 400 block of Beautys Run Road in Lycoming Township on June 30. Belford made arrangements to pay $344 in fines and court costs.

In another case before Solomon, the judge dismissed a misdemeanor shoplifting charge against Eric Leidel, of 1014 1/2 Dewey Ave. after the 27-year-old man agreed to pay $223 restitution to the Weis Market, 1916 Lycoming Creek Road, and $408 in court costs. The charge stemmed from an incident on June 1.
