MIDLAND, MI — City of Midland officials are asking residents to take a bus ride and share their experience.
On Thursday, Sept. 26, community members are invited to join planning department staff for a rolling tour of the Bay City Road corridor on Thursday, Sept. 16, as an interactive part of the “Midland City Modern” master planning process, according to a city of Midland news release. This event is the final Midland Moves neighborhood tour planned for 2021.
During the event, attendees will board and ride a City of Midland Dial-A-Ride (DART) bus to experience the Bay City Road corridor via public transportation. The bus will makes several stops along the corridor to allow attendees to exit the vehicle and share what they see, feel and experience at each stop, the release states. Topics of focus will include healthy neighborhoods, walkability, accessibility, and the impact the corridor’s design has on livability, home values, safety, the environment and social connections.
Attendees can board the bus in the parking lot of the Midland Civic Arena, 405 Fast Ice Drive. The bus will leave the Civic Arena at approximately 5:35 p.m. and return at 6:30 p.m. Dial-A-Ride buses are equipped with a lift for guests with mobility devices.
Federal law requires all passengers to wear a face mask regardless of their vaccination status.
