suitersa.blogspot.com

Longmont is inviting motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians to join a virtual “Share the Road” class on Thursday night.

The 5:30 to 7 p.m. class “provides some of the hows and whys of sharing the roads with all users,” city officials said in their announcement.

It will cover such issues as whether it’s legal for cyclists to ride two abreast inside the city, how and when to pass a person on a bike, whether it’s legal to cross a double yellow line, whether it’s legal for cyclists to travel left of a white line, and navigating safely through a traffic circle. People also can get answers to their own questions about sharing the roads safely, whether their main mode of transportation is a motor vehicle, bicycle, or on foot.

Thursday night’s class is free but people must register at bit.ly/sharetheroadlongmont to participate. The class also will be offered on April 29.

People with questions about the class can email city staff member Lauren Greenfield at lauren.greenfield@longmontcolorado.gov.
