Pete Davidson helped Alec Bladwin get in better shape — but he didn't mean to, the Saturday Night Live star explained to Jimmy Fallon.
Davidson dropped by The Tonight Show on Tuesday, where he explained the credit he gets for helping Baldwin lose as much as 100 pounds is not warranted. Baldwin, who had a stretch on SNL playing Donald Trump, has credited Davidson for his 100 pushups and 100 situps-a-day routine.
"I was on set and Alec was hosting. It was a sketch where I had to be shirtless, and I am a little bit cut," Davidson started. "So he came up to me and he was like, 'What do you do?' And I didn't want to be rude and say, 'I just still have metabolism. I am not in my mid-50s. I just wake up like this.' So, to make him feel better, I said, 'I do 100 pushups and 100 situps every day.' And he was like, 'Got it.'"
As it turns out, Baldwin took the faux workout to heart and started doing it, which he has talked about before, such as on Howard Stern, crediting Davidson.
"And then he got the Trump gig, and I would see him every week. And every time I would see him in the hall, he'd be like, '100 a day,'" Davidson said. "And he lost like 100 pounds."
Davidson also talked about getting cast in The Suicide Squad, James Gunn's highly anticipated upcoming film.
"I love superhero movies, and I got a call from James Gunn, who said, 'There is this role for you in the movie. You play a guy named Richard Hertz,'" Davidson said. "And I was like, 'Dick Hertz? I'm in.'"
