The Naperville Park District board has approved an agreement to accept a 40-acre donation near Knoch Knolls Park.

The land, at the western edge of the park, was donated as part of an agreement between the Beneficiary of the Frank Rus Trust and the park district and will be known as the Frank Rus Preserve at Knoch Knolls Park.

The donation includes a one-story house that will be used by the public in the future. In a statement after last week's board meeting, park district officials said the property will expand their ability to increase recreational programs for the community.

According to the district, approving the resolution to accept the donation begins a 60-day window where the park board can consider additional information before finalizing the property's naming. The donation and naming of the property would become official at the end of October.
