New Fairfield will not accept cash payments for tax bills - Danbury News Times

suitersa.blogspot.com

NEW FAIRFIELD — With tax bills being mailed out this week, the town will be accepting payments in a number of ways — but no cash payments will be allowed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tax bills can be paid online, by mail, at local branches of Union Savings Bank and Savings Bank of Danbury, or delivered to a secure drop box at town hall.

Online tax bill payments can be made at newfairfield.org.

Mailed payments should be sent to: Tax Collector, 4 Brush Hill Road, New Fairfield, CT 06812. To avoid penalty, envelopes must be postmarked on or before Aug. 3.

Bills paid at the New Fairfield branches of Union Savings Bank and Savings Bank of Danbury must be done between July 1 and Aug. 3, and taxpayers must bring their entire tax bills with them.

Tax bill payments can also be dropped off at a secure drop box installed at the back of town hall, which remains open to the public by appointment only for services that cannot be provided over the phone or online.

Questions may be directed to taxcollector@newfairfield.org.
