EasyJet PLC said Thursday that it has conditionally raised 418.6 million pounds ($519.94 million) via a discounted share placing, and that it will use the proceeds to enhance its liquidity position and credit metrics.
The low-cost airline said it will issue 59.5 million new ordinary shares at 703 pence a share, a 5% discount to Wednesday's closing price of 740 pence.
On Wednesday the budget airline said it expected to raise up to GBP450 million after its pretax loss widened in the first half of fiscal 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
