OKLAHOMA CITY – Alabama softball senior Montana Fouts and alums Bailey Hemphill and Haylie McCleney are among the 45 athletes that have been invited to participate at the 2022 USA Softball Women's National Team Selection Trials.
The trials will be held Jan. 1-6, 2022 at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Fla. The invitees will be vying for a spot on the 18-player roster for the 2022 team that will compete at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Ala.
McCleney, a 2016 graduate of Alabama, is one of 11 invitees from the Tokyo Olympic Silver Medal team and has been a member of Team USA since 2014. Fouts previously tried out for Team USA in the fall of 2019 after competing with the U19 team that summer, earning a third-place showing at the International Cup. Hemphill graduated in 2021 as Alabama's all-time home runs leader and the SEC career walks leader, earning SEC Player of the Year accolades.
