Representatives from TD Synnex’s Share the Magic, a charitable fundraising initiative created by TD Synnex Corporation president of North America Peter Larocque, gathered Dec. 16 to present over $2.1 million raised in 2021 to four Upstate children’s charities.
The beneficiaries included:
- A Child’s Haven – $389,000
- Clement’s Kindness – $392,000
- Make-A-Wish South Carolina – $384,000
- Pendleton Place – $341,000
“We are very proud to surpass our fundraising goal this year with a record-breaking $2.18 million raised for Upstate children’s charities — an achievement that would not be possible without the dedicated efforts of our associates, local organizations and individuals, and business partners,” said Larocque. “This is a heart-driven activity. It’s in our heart, but we deliver. The families and the children we serve are why we come to work every day.”
Since its inception in 2011, TD Synnex Share the Magic has raised more than $16 million for these beneficiaries and the funds have been used for a variety of programs, projects and needs, including:
- A Child’s Haven was able to move to a 25,000-square-foot facility, which allowed them to expand their services to a wider age group
- Clement’s Kindness has been able to provide more than $1 million in financial assistance to Upstate families impacted by pediatric cancer and other blood disorders
- Make-A-Wish South Carolina has granted more than 1,800 wishes since 2010
- Pendleton Place opened Greenville’s first Youth Resource Center and an Emergency Youth Shelter for runaway, homeless and at-risk youth
The year-long initiative included a variety of community events such as the TD Synnex Share the Magic Day at the Greenville Drive and the TD Synnex Share the Magic Golf Tournament.
In addition to serving the Upstate, the initiative has expanded to Canada, Colorado, Illinois and the California Bay Area.
