Basketball means nothing on a day like today.
The Milwaukee Bucks showed that with their historic protest of Game 5 of their first round series, and the Orlando Magic are standing with them.
Following the Bucks’ boycott in protest of the shooting of Jacob Blake by police officers in Wisconsin, the Magic left the arena and will not accept a forfeit victory, according to reports.
Bucks players are in locker room attempting to reach the attorney general of Wisconsin, Josh Kaul, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Magic players are leaving the arena soon -- not accepting the Bucks‘ forfeit.

I'm told the Orlando Magic have refused to accept a forfeit by the Milwaukee Bucks if that is what the NBA deems it to be.

The Bucks hold a 3-1 lead over the Magic and could have wrapped up the series with a victory in Game 5, which was originally scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. The Magic came out for warm-ups shortly before the scheduled tip-off but the Bucks never took the court. The Magic eventually returned to the locker room, and soon after, left the arena.
Credit the Bucks for starting this movement, and to all of the NBA teams that have followed suit, as NBA players attempt to keep the focus where it belongs: on the social injustice prevalent across the country.
The Magic released a statement condemning bigotry and police brutality.
In a comment issued through the team, the Magic’s Michael Carter-Williams said: “We weren’t given advanced notice about the decision but we are happy to stand in solidarity with Milwaukee, Jacob, and the entire NBA community. Change is coming.”
